In order to be successful in a world full of volatiliy, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity strategy, and its implementation and supervision as well as learning from errors - in my eyes - is key. Communication as a major source of success as well as of failure needs to be a key component within every conceptualization of strategy. Strategy as I see it is a processual way of problem solving and even problem prevention.

VISION
Must have: Strong emotional message and worthwile achievement. Combination of top down and bottom up conceptualization.

GENERAL CONDITIONS
Laws, markets, societal zeitgeist, megatrends, state of the art have to be taken into consideration.

COMMUNICATION
Bracket over every action and measure taken into account. Explanation of doing and goals is crucial for loyalty and allegiance.

GOALS
SMART goals: specific, measurable, accepted and ambitious, realistic, time-phased.

SUCCESS FACTORS
Awareness and consideration of processes, structures, system(s), resources, culture of company / nation contribute to success.

KNOWLEDGE
Gained knowledge over time as well as the (key) learnings out of trial and error are THE treasure of a company and need to be systematized and collected.

STAKEHOLDER
Knowledge of requests and requirements of people involved and affected is key, as well as quality of performance and type of collaboration.

CONTROLLING
Supervision of target achievements as milestones along the road to crucial and specific (main) goals.

TRANSLATION
Adaptation of language depending on the target audience is crucial and often forgotten.
